The staff are friendly and approachable. Special mention to the guy who assisted when I had questions on the gingham series, and also to the cashier who wished my partner and I well, served us with a smile, and even recommended us beautiful boxes when we said that the items were for wedding gifts. Thank you!

Express Teppanyaki, my go-to spot for Taiwanese-style teppanyaki, has taken a hit lately. The food quality has gone downhill, and prices have skyrocketed. And to make matters worse, they now need to certify their food as halal, which means they canāt use certain ingredients like rice wine or non-halal sauces. Thatās a big change, and itās definitely affected the taste of the dishes. Oh, and the best part is: They donāt even have pork as a protein option anymore. Thatās a huge bummer for all you pork lovers out there.

I always come to this store for teppanyaki because it's the only one near my house. Sadly, their standards have dropped. Prices have increased a lot. Most of the time, there's a long queue; however, it's often very messy (for example, they sometimes skip customers even though they have enough staff). I ordered Set C, and my friend ordered Set B, which totaled $51. (6/10 rating for food) No longer worth the price.

The pricing has been increasing rapidly, while their portions have been decreasing rapidly as well. $15 bucks for a simple meal with bland sauce, tough meat, and salty vegetables and bean sprouts. Not to mention, they put only a half scoop of rice into a bowl to make it look full. See how a "full" bowl of rice looks when split into two bowls. š¤·āāļøš¤·āāļø

Itās been a long time since we ate here. Ordered the beef meal. It is the same as before, except that prices have increased a lot due to inflation. The beef set used to be $11, but now itās $15. Set C, which I had a few years ago, was $17, but now itās $25. I ordered the beef, which you can opt for in a spicy or non-spicy version. The spicy version is quite spicy. The soup is very bland and not nice. Itās average in price for a plate of meat in todayās inflationary economy. The taste is not too bad, but donāt expect a Michelin star. You pay for what you get: bean sprouts, meat, and cabbage, in that order. The queue is long, so be prepared to wait, especially during peak hours. However, the queue moves pretty fast; if you want a quick meal, go on weekdays. The beef is of decent quality. One thing to note is that the price includes GST, and there is no service charge on top of the listed price. All in all, itās not bad for a simple meal in the heartlands of Tampines. I would rate the food 3/5. Service is standard, but thereās no additional service charge, so thatās good. If you can spare $25, Set A to C is quite filling, offering a variety of more meat options.

Have been visiting this outlet over the years. However, for the last few times, my portion of vegetables, compared to others, was at least 50% smaller. The chef gave other tables huge portions, but mine was just very little. I find that it was not fair. And when there was a portion of beansprouts left, he added it to a table that already had a larger share, rather than to my very small portion.

Here's an edited version: This is the worst teppanyaki meal Iāve had in my life. My sister and I paid $19 each for the sirloin set, which is not cheap. The steak was overcooked and very tough. We couldnāt finish it because our teeth and jaw hurt from chewing so much. To make matters worse, the rice was undercooked. Additionally, the cashier was rude and rushed us to place our order, seemingly so she could return to watching shows on her phone.

It has been a while since my last visit. I noticed that their prices have increased significantly and the menu has also changed. I ordered their Set C combo. The overall food quality hasnāt changed muchāitās the standard teppanyaki. It seems like they now have more teppanyaki chefs, and the female chef I wasnāt too fond of is no longer there. (This is based on my subjective impression that she tended to allocate smaller portions compared to the other chefs, possibly to serve more customers in fewer rounds of cooking.) With her absence, I found the experience more satisfying. However, there are two areas I hope they can improve: first, the texture of their steamed rice is too hard, likely due to insufficient water used when cooking. Second, I wish they would offer sugar-free canned drinks. Overall, Iām quite satisfied with my visit.

The food is not representative of the cost: $25 for a third of a piece of white fish, squid that doesn't even match the photo, a single scallop, and cai fan-like beef. The sauce is not bad, but $25 can go much further at other places in the mall. Wouldn't recommend if you're hungry or looking for something worth your time and money.
