Step into this Hong Kong sensation that's taken Tampines by storm with its legendary Shanghai pan-fried buns. Founded by former singer Oscar Siu, Ging Sun Ho has grown from a tiny 100-square-foot stall in Mongkok to 13 outlets across Hong Kong – and now they've brought their magic to Singapore.
Their signature sheng jian bao arrives as a trio of golden-bottomed beauties, each handmade fresh and bursting with savoury pork and hot soup. One bite releases a flood of umami goodness that'll have you reaching for tissues. Beyond the famous buns, their dan dan noodles deliver a creamy sesame punch with just the right kick of spice.
This fast-casual spot channels the spirit of a classic Hong Kong cha chaan teng, serving up authentic Shanghainese comfort food at wallet-friendly prices. Whether you're craving their melt-in-your-mouth pork chop rice or those addictive soup dumplings, every dish reflects decades of perfected recipes from the streets of Hong Kong.
We went at 6:30 PM on a Saturday night and were lucky enough to get a seat for 5 without having to wait too long (maybe a 3-minute wait).
The 生煎包 was really good when we took it away to try at home, so we came back to try other dishes.
We ordered the set meal for 2, which was really worth the price, and added on more à la carte dishes. Overall, the food tasted delectable, and we would come back again.

Honestly, the food and service were both beyond expectations! Despite the busy peak period, the staff were all very helpful and keen to get us seated quickly and our food served very quickly. They also came back repeatedly to check if we were missing any of our set meal items. The set meal for two people is seriously VERY WORTH IT! If you’re both hungry, you’ll get a main, along with 2 portions of rice/noodles (top-up required), 4 Sheng Jian Bao, 4 Xiao long baos, a starter (I chose wings), an appetiser (I chose black fungus cucumber), and 2 ice jelly.

Their Bao is their most famous dish. Must try! Their Dan Dan Mian sauce was on point, but it can get saltier as you dig in. One small problem is that the floor can be quite dirty. A small cockroach even climbed onto my calf. I swiped it away and then changed my seat from the wall-side four-seater cushion to a two-seater table. I also saw some cockroach bait at other corner seats.

Service was swift, and the food was delivered fast! Ordered the baos to share, they were not bad, but I thought other xlbs are better. Noodles were a little too salty, but in general were not bad.

First time trying. My son likes it so much. He said this is the taste he likes. The portion is just nice. The pork soup dumplings are juicy and nice. The Shanghai classic stir-fried noodle seems like Malaysia Hokkien Mee, but the Shanghai noodles are not so oily and taste nice too. We will come back again 😃
