Service was swift, and food was delivered fast! I ordered the baos to share; they weren't bad, but I thought other xlbs were better. The noodles were a little too salty, but overall, they weren't bad.

The Sheng Jian bao was juicy! However, the noodles and chicken were a bit too oily. Just FYI, they offer free soy milk/steamed dumplings for a review here… 😂 Atmosphere-wise, where we sat had a few flies. Other than that, the portions are a bit small, hence it's pricey!

The signature fried bun was definitely the standout — incredibly delicious with a perfectly crispy exterior. Unfortunately, the other dishes didn’t live up to expectations. The green tea was over-brewed, and the spicy and sour soup arrived lukewarm. The onion noodles lacked fragrance, and the beef noodle soup was so spicy it was hard to enjoy. Considering the high prices, the overall experience didn’t feel worth it, as the flavors were only mediocre.

This place is sparsely decorated. It's quite popular, as the place fills up quickly. I ordered a few of the recommended dishes. The fried buns were really juicy; one bite and the juice sprayed onto my nose. The taste is good, but the crispy base is too thick and like a biscuit. The XLB is acceptable but not exceptional. The special pork chop noodle is nice, but the pork shoulder is a little dry and has thick, hard tendons. The noodle is nice, but the soup base has a strong peanut taste, which isn't to my liking. The chicken chop is tender and flavorful. Service is fast.

Food was very average. I ordered the set meal for two, and after adding drinks and GST, it came to almost $57.
The sheng jian bao skin was quite chewy. The rest of the food tasted okay, but I've had much better dishes elsewhere. The pickled vegetable fish had way too much Sichuan peppercorn and no other flavor. The dessert tasted better than it looked.
Perhaps the reason they have so many good reviews is because many people want to claim the freebies they offer for leaving good reviews. 🤷🏻♂️

"Super crazy tea-time deal!
Their best-selling Golden Fried Chicken Fillet with Scallion Oil Noodles + a green tea (hot/cold) is only $3.80+ on weekdays from 2-5:30 PM! I don't know when this promotion will end, but this deal is really super worth it!
The noodles are QQ (springy) with the scallion oil fragrance, which is very addictive. The fried chicken fillet is so huge and appetizing; it's tender chicken thigh with crispy skin!
The set also allows for upgrades like sides (including sheng jian bao, etc.) and changes of drinks. We added an ice jelly for $1.80. Even with that, my total meal was only $6.10!
Xiao Xue's warm reception and bright smile are very contagious! Even on a quiet, rainy afternoon, it's very heartwarming. In fact, the team here is so welcoming and very responsive!"

I ordered the scallion oil noodle set along with a pan-fried bun. The noodles were flavorful, and the side dish—spinach—was perfectly marinated, offering a well-balanced taste. The braised eggs, while decent, didn’t stand out. The pan-fried bun took a little longer to arrive, but it was worth the wait, with a delightfully crispy base and a rich, savory broth inside. As for the soy grass jelly drink, it tasted refreshingly healthy, with no added sugar—a great complement to the meal. Overall, it was a satisfying experience, and I’ll definitely be returning!

We went at 6:30 PM on a Saturday night and were lucky enough to get a seat for five without waiting too long (maybe a 3-minute wait).
The 生煎包 was really good when we took it to go to try at home, so we came back to try other dishes.
We ordered the set meal for two, which was really worth the price, and added more à la carte dishes. Overall, the food tasted delectable, and we would come back again.

"Honestly, the food and service were both beyond expectations! Despite the busy peak period, the staff were all very helpful and keen to seat us as quickly as possible and serve our food promptly. They also repeatedly checked if we were missing any items from our set meal. The set meal for two people is seriously VERY worth it! If you're both hungry, you'll get a main, with two rice/noodles (top up), four Sheng Jian Bao, four Xiao Long Bao, a starter (I chose wings), an appetizer (I chose black fungus cucumber), and two ice jellies~"
