I recently dined at Alley Wei, a Chinese restaurant that has been getting some attention, and overall, it was a mixed experience.
The standout dish for me was definitely the beef noodles. The beef was incredibly tender, practically melting in your mouth, and the noodles were perfectly cooked, absorbing the flavorful broth beautifully. It was hearty and satisfying, and I would highly recommend it if you’re craving something comforting.
The warm soy bean was a pleasant surprise—simple, but nice. It was a comforting touch, especially on a chilly day, and it complemented the meal well.
As for the dumplings, they were a bit of a letdown. They were on the smaller side and didn’t have the burst of flavor I was hoping for. While they were decent, they didn’t stand out compared to other dumplings I’ve had at similar restaurants.
The scallion pancake was crispy, but it was also quite oily, which made it a bit heavy to eat. It lacked the perfect balance of crunch and lightness that would have made it great.
Overall, Alley Wei has some strong dishes, like the beef noodles, but there’s room for improvement with the dumplings and scallion pancake. Still, if you’re in the mood for comforting Chinese food, it’s worth checking out.

Tried Taiwanese food for the first time and I just fell in love with it. It was finger-licking good, and the flavors were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend it! I loved everything ordered, from the beef noodle soup to the chicken dumplings, pan-fried dumplings, and scallion pancake - LOVE! I would come here over and over again.
It's a nice, cozy place to sit in. We didn't find it hard to get a place, and service was quick.

No complaints. Whatever I order has been great. The chicken dumplings were filled with meat and tasted awesome with the chili. The soy bean drink is light and goes well with the you tiao. It's an affordable spot for a midday snack.

Thumbs up for the food we had!
Hala Chinese cuisine that's right beside the escalator from B1 up to L1. It's in a very chilled and laid-back area that you might miss if you don't look left before going up to Level 1.
Let's dive in!
Food:
What could go wrong with meat? Nothing, especially when the broth is yummy-licious. I can't really explain it in words, but we can definitely say it's very yummy and best paired with something spicy.
Service:
The food was prepared very fast. In under 5 minutes, what you ordered will be ready. So yeah, we were glad we didn't have to wait long because we needed a fast meal.
Atmosphere:
Despite being in Tampines Mall, time kind of slowed down in this area. Try it, and you will understand. It's very comforting to know that there are still places like this for us to unwind.
All in all, a great place to go, especially if you haven't tried it yet. A definite recommended makan place! We actually wanted more, but let's save it for another time. Cheers!

Surprised to see not many customers here on a Sunday.
Anyway, we walked in easily and ordered our food. They don't serve pork, as they are halal.
We had the pancake with egg, which was tasty although not crispy. We also had chicken soup noodles, which were normal, and steamed dumplings, which tasted quite nice. Finally, we had a bowl of bean curd with grass jelly, which didn't taste as great. Overall, the meal was normal.

Halal, authentic, and delicious. The bean curd and soy milk are the signatures. Try their spring onion pancake and you tiao. Decent seating space. The uncle will clear your table once you're finished.

"Was supposed to go to another newly opened eatery, but it was nowhere to be seen.
Luckily, I passed by this Taiwanese cuisine restaurant. It was great to order their soy milk; I'd been craving it. As for the pancake with egg, it was tasty but not crispy. It was very thinly made."

The sweetness and proportion are well-balanced, which makes the cold soybean and chinchau taste really great. The hot beancurd is a bit lacking in flavor.
After placing our order, we received a buzzer and self-collected from the service counter. The chicken pancake and red bean pancake are made to order, so they were still hot when we collected them, but the frying had a heavy, oily taste, and the filling could be improved.
The noodles weren't stirred thoroughly when cooked, so there was a large, undercooked clump. Taste-wise, it was still okay (we ordered beef soup noodles without meat).

This is one of my favorite halal restaurants. I am delighted that they made delicious Taiwanese cuisine halal for Muslims to enjoy. The dishes are served fast and are consistently delicious, even divine: beef noodle soup, pan-fried chicken bao, soy milk, crispy chicken pancake, dumplings, etc. It's a cozy and clean place to eat.

A friend brought me here for beef noodles, and I was puzzled to find white radish and carrots in the noodles. I wondered what kind of strange combination that was. Later, after reading other reviews, I realized this is a Taiwanese-style restaurant. However, the scallion pancake still seems a bit Northwestern-style.
This restaurant has a Google rating of only 2.9 points, mainly due to its high prices. If diners only order beef noodles or pancakes, they likely won't feel that way. Also, the taste is quite acceptable, although it's not as delicious as Lanzhou-style noodles. But as a regular canteen, I think the seasoning is acceptable.
I read other reviews that the service here is poor and it gets crowded. I went to eat after 9 pm and didn't encounter a crowded situation. It's just an eatable canteen.
