I recently dined at Alley Wei, a Chinese restaurant that has been getting some attention. Overall, it was a mixed experience.
The standout dish for me was definitely the beef noodles. The beef was incredibly tender, practically melting in your mouth, and the noodles were perfectly cooked, absorbing the flavorful broth beautifully. It was hearty and satisfying, and I would highly recommend this if youāre craving something comforting.
The warm soy bean was a pleasant surpriseāsimple, but nice. It was a comforting touch, especially on a chilly day, and it complemented the meal well.
As for the dumplings, they were a bit of a letdown. They were on the smaller side and didnāt have the burst of flavor I was hoping for. While they were decent, they didnāt stand out compared to other dumplings Iāve had at similar restaurants.
The scallion pancake was crispy, but it was also quite oily, which made it a bit heavy to eat. It lacked that perfect balance of crunch and lightness that wouldāve made it great.
Overall, Alley Wei has some strong dishes like the beef noodles, but thereās room for improvement with the dumplings and scallion pancake. Still, if youāre in the mood for comforting Chinese food, itās worth checking out.

Tried Taiwanese food for the first time, and I just fell in love with it. It was finger-licking good, and the flavors were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend it. I loved every single thing we ordered: the beef noodle soup, chicken dumplings, pan-fried dumplings, and scallion pancakes. Absolutely loved them! I would come here over and over again. It's a nice, cozy place to sit in. We didn't find it hard to get a table, and seating was quick.

No complaints. Whatever I ordered was great. The chicken dumplings were filled with meat and tasted awesome with the chilli. The soya bean drink is light and goes well with the you tiao. An affordable spot for a midday snack.

Thumbs up for the food we had!
The Halal Chinese cuisine restaurant is right smack beside the escalator from B1 up to L1. It's a very chilled and laid-back area that you might miss if you don't look left before heading up to Level 1.
Let's Dive in!
Food:
What could go wrong with meat? Nothing. Especially when the broth is yummy-licious. Can't really explain it in words, but we can definitely say it's very yummy and best paired with something spicy.
Service:
The food was prepared very fast. In under 5 minutes, your order will be ready. So, yes, we were glad we didn't have to wait long because we needed a fast meal.
Atmosphere:
Despite being in Tampines Mall, time kind of slowed down in this area. Try it, and you will understand. It's very comforting to know that such places still exist for us to unwind.
All in all, a great place to visit, especially if you haven't tried it yet. A definitely recommended makan place! We actually wanted more, but we'll save it for another time, la eh. š«¢š
Cheers!

Surprised to see not many customers here on Sunday. Anyway, we walked in easily and ordered our food. They don't serve pork as they are halal. We had the pancake with egg, which was tasty although not crispy; chicken soup noodles, which were normal; steamed dumplings, which tasted quite nice; and a bowl of bean curd with grass jelly, which didn't taste as great. The overall meal was normal.
