Alley Wei at Tampines Mall breaks new ground as Singapore's first Halal-certified Taiwanese street food destination, bringing authentic flavors of Taiwan's bustling night markets to Level B1 (#B1-K21) with traditional recipes adapted for Muslim diners. This innovative concept restaurant fills a unique market gap by combining the authenticity of Taiwanese cuisine with religious dietary compliance.
The menu showcases beloved Taiwanese classics including their signature Beef Noodles ($9.90) featuring tender beef slices in rich broth, Pan-fried Chicken Pau ($4.80), crispy Scallion Pancakes ($4.20), and traditional Pan-Fried Dumplings ($4.80) made fresh at their visible dumpling station. Complementing the savory offerings are authentic beverages like Taiwanese soybean milk and traditional You Tiao dough fritters.
Operating daily 11am-9pm, Alley Wei excels in speed without sacrificing quality - most orders are ready in under 5 minutes through their efficient buzzer system and counter collection service. The open concept layout with light wooden furniture and bright interior creates a casual, family-friendly atmosphere perfect for quick shopping breaks.
With most dishes priced under $10, Alley Wei delivers "fairer pricing" compared to premium Taiwanese restaurants while maintaining authentic preparation methods. This unique positioning makes traditional Taiwanese street food accessible to Muslim customers and general mall shoppers seeking quality, affordable Asian cuisine in a convenient, fast-casual format.
Don’t be deceived by the appearance of this shop. From the outside, the food appears to be tasty. However , all the items on their menu are overpriced and taste below average. For example their pancakes, dumpling, and other dishes are dry, hard, and very bland. For potential customers, they are much better off eating at food court or other dining outlets, can save extra money too as other dining outlets are cheaper and more tasty. Please don’t take the risk 🙏
Especially there is a male staff at the cashier (refer to photos) who seems very unhappy, with a black face and doesn’t answer questions of customers but just key in order.

Sweetness and proportion is well balance so make the soybean+chinchau (cold) taste really great. Hot beancurd kinda lack of flavor.
After placed order, we gotten buzzer and will self collect from their service counter. Chicken pancake and red bean pancake are made to order so it still hot when collect but frying oily taste is heavy and the filling could be more.
Noodle was not stir thoroughly when cook thus there’s a big clump under-cooked portion. Taste wise still ok ( we order beef soup noodle without meat)

Was supposed to go to another newly opening eatery. But nowhere to be seen.
Luckily passed by at this Taiwanese cuisine. Great to order for their soyabean milk. Been craving for it. As for the pancake with egg, it was tasty but not crispy. Very thinly made.

Food was great always. But what makes a good food restaurant better is the service. Cashier just stood there looking down and not bothering to see if there was a customer. When she looks up I expected a good morning or hi what's your order. She just kept silent and looked at me. Felt like I was disturbing her work time. Proceeded to order and took a seat. Table was so sticky and had bowl stains. Had to go wash my hands at the sink to get rid of the slime.
This has happened more than once hence I'm writing this now.
If I wanted bad service and good food, better to go to a hawker centre. At least over there, there is a chance you get food service

Tried it for the first time today while passing by. The beef noodle is decent while the pan fried dumplings are quite good. But true to the bad reviews, the cashier is kinda dead-like and can't be bothered to serve. Even when my takeaway order was ready, the uncle at the front didn't even bother to take and pass it to me. Just pointed it at me and told me to take the chopsticks myself if I need it.

Someone mentioned imagining you are having the beef noodle in Taiwan winter and that it would be heavenly.
Right now is the rainy season in tampines, and it seems to fit the bill.
Beef noodle was very clear broth with light seasoning, was a delight.
But, for eating in, you should be queuing at the side of the shop (right in front of pet shop) to be assigned a table by super efficient, fast working 79yr old uncle and his armies. With friendly smiles, They clear the table efficiently and indirectly, hinting patrons to move on if they're done as there's limited seating.
They were very friendly and make it their mission to clear the queues!
You can proceed with ordering after securing seats and the foods will be served in less than 5minutes (for my multiple orders).
Cashier was polite and repeated order clearly.
Beef noodle was a delight, and washed it down with the clean taste warm soybean.
Chicken pancake was crispy and nice.
Beef dumpling with soup wasn't really nice, the broth was quite heavy.
I'd return to try other stuff
Yeah it is pricey, since it is in a mall and it is halal. I am sure there's more less pricey non halal options so you might want to skip as it wouldn't meet your expectations.

I love a streamlined menu for a fuss-free meal.
There’s only one type of noodles (beef soup noodles, although I think chicken is available too), and I love that there’s veggies in it. Huge chunks of carrots and radish, and crunchy cabbage.
My partner and I shared a plate of fried dumplings plus a bowl of soya bean milk too.
Nothing much to fuss about, really. The place deserves more stars than it has now, at least from my perspective.

Food was served hot. Chicken in chicken pancake was tender and well seasoned. The dough in red bean pancake was thick. I expected it to be thinner. I tasted cai poh in the scallion egg pancake. It tasted like fried carrot cake.
This is a nice and quiet place and as it is located at B1 corner area, many might have missed the place.

I actually pretty much enjoyed the food here. I especially like the chicken pancake and the soymilk which is served in a bowl. The chicken pancake was hot and crispy - extra kick when ate with the sambal. Staff were also very fast and efficient. The uncle staff was also very helpful in helping customers find table.

I disagree with their Google ratings! Their beef noodle is so good. Handmade noodles, light on the tongue but has nice taste. Very generous with the beef. Highly highly recommend. This is easily 5 stars man.

This is one of my favourite halal restaurants. I am delighted that they made delicious Taiwanese cuisine halal for the Muslims to enjoy. The dishes are served fast and consistently delicious/ divine: beef noodle soup, pan fried chicken Bao, soya bean milk, crispy chicken pancake, dumplings, etc.
Cosy and clean place to eat.

No complains. Whatever I order was great. The chicken dumplings were filled with meat and tasted awesome with the chilli. The soya bean drink is light and goes well with the you tiao. Affordable spot for mid day snack.

I recently dined at Alley Wei, a Chinese restaurant that has been getting some attention, and overall, it was a mixed experience.
The standout dish for me was definitely the beef noodles. The beef was incredibly tender, practically melting in your mouth, and the noodles were perfectly cooked, absorbing the flavorful broth beautifully. It was hearty and satisfying, and I would highly recommend this if you’re craving something comforting.
The warm soy bean was a pleasant surprise—simple, but nice. It was a comforting touch, especially on a chilly day, and it complemented the meal well.
As for the dumplings, they were a bit of a letdown. They were on the smaller side and didn’t have the burst of flavor I was hoping for. While they were decent, they didn’t stand out compared to other dumplings I’ve had at similar restaurants.
The scallion pancake was crispy, but it was also quite oily, which made it a bit heavy to eat. It lacked that perfect balance of crunch and lightness that would’ve made it great.
Overall, Alley Wei has some strong dishes like the beef noodles, but there’s room for improvement with the dumplings and scallion pancake. Still, if you’re in the mood for comforting Chinese food, it’s worth checking out.

Surprise to see not many customer here on Sunday.
Anyway walk in easy and ordered our food. They don't serve pork as they are halal.
We had the pancake with egg which was tasty although not crispy, chicken soup noodle which was normal, steam dumpling taste quite nice and a bowl of bean curd with grassjelly which doesn't taste as great. Overall meal was normal.

A friend brought me here to have beef noodles, and I was puzzled because I found white radish and carrots in the noodles. I wondered what kind of strange combination that was. Later, after reading other people's reviews, I realized that this is a Taiwanese-style restaurant. However, looking at the scallion pancake, it still seems a bit like Northwestern style.
This restaurant has a Google rating of only 2.9 points, mainly due to its high prices. If diners only order beef noodles or pancakes, they shouldn't have this feeling. Also, the taste is quite acceptable, although it's not as delicious as Lanzhou-style noodles. But as a canteen for regular visits, I think the seasoning is acceptable.
I read other reviews that the service here is poor, and it's crowded. I went to eat after 9 pm and didn't encounter a crowded situation. It's just an eatable canteen.

Tried Taiwanese food for the first time and I just fell in love with it. It was finger licking good and the flavours absolutely amazing. Highly recommend it. I loved every single thing ordered from the beef noodle soup, to chicken dumplings, pan fried dumpling and scallion pancake - LOVE. I would come here over and over again.
Nice cosy place to sit in. We didn’t find it hard to get a place and it was quick.

We ordered Youtiao, Steamed Dumplings, Panfried Dumplings & Steamed Chicken Pau for our tea break.
The interesting part is that you drink their beverages from a bowl (Soyamilk and Soyamilk with ChinChow). They do provide straw.
Total damage: $20.80.
Alley Wei is located at Tampines Mall Basement.
The food tasted nice and crispy.
Highly recommended.
It is halal.
You got to order first and collect later even if you dine in.
The staff are friendly.

Thumbs up for the food we had!
Hala Chinese cuisine that is right smack beside the escalator from b1 up to L1. A very chilled and laid back area that you may miss if you don't look left before going up to Level 1.
Let's Dive in!
Food:
What would could go wrong with meat? Nothing.. especially when the broth is yummy-licious. Cant really explain in words but we can definitely say, it's very yummy and best to pair with something spicy..
Service:
The food was prepared very fast. In under 5mins, what you ordered will be ready. So yeah, we were glad we did not have to wait long koz we needed to have a fast meal.
Atmosphere:
Despite being in Tampines Mall, time kinda slowed down in this area. Try it and you will understand. It is very comforting to know that there are still such places for us to unwind.
All in all, a great place to go to, especially if you have yet to try. A definite recommended makan place!! We actually wanted more, but let's save it for other times la eh🫢😂
Cheers!

Halal, authentic, delicious. Bean curd and soya milk are the signatures. Try their spring onion pancake and you tiao. Decent seating space. Uncle will clear your table once you finish.
