Sheng Jian bao was juicy! However noodles were a tad bit too oily as well as the chicken. Just FYI they offer free soy milk/steamed dumpling for a review here… 😂 atmosphere wise where we sat got a few flies..: other than that, portions all abit small hence it’s pricey!

Our first visit to this restaurant was an absolute delight! We were thoroughly impressed by the quality and taste of every dish we tried. The Deep-Fried Shanghainese Pork Chop (上海排骨) was a definite highlight, perfectly crispy on the outside and tender within, a truly satisfying main course. The Golden Fried Chicken Fillet with Scallion Oil Noodles (黄金鸡扒葱油拌面) was another winner, offering a comforting and flavorful experience with its aromatic scallion oil perfectly complementing the succulent chicken. We also enjoyed the unique and flavorful sides, including the refreshing Chilled Cucumber Salad (凉拌黄瓜) and the savory Braised Egg (卤水蛋). And for dessert, the Peanut Mochi (香脆花生糯米糍), Pistachio Mochi (开心果糯米糍), and Oreo Mochi (奥利奥糯米糍) were a revelation – each one a delightful blend of chewy texture and rich, distinct flavors. Even the Pan-Fried Sheng Jian Bao (生煎包) were wonderfully executed, with a crispy bottom and juicy filling. We left completely satisfied and already looking forward to our next visit to explore more of their delicious menu!

The signature fried bun was definitely the standout — incredibly delicious with a perfectly crispy exterior. Unfortunately, the other dishes didn’t live up to expectations. The green tea was over-brewed, and the spicy and sour soup arrived lukewarm. The onion noodles were lacking in fragrance, and the beef noodle soup was so spicy it was hard to enjoy. Considering the high prices, the overall experience didn’t feel worth it, as the flavors were just mediocre.

Food was very average. Ordered the set meal for 2, after adding drinks and gst, came up to almost $57. The sheng jian bao skin was quite chewy. The rest of the food tasted ok, i've had way better dishes elsewhere. The pickled veg fish had way too much sichuan peppercorn and no other flavour. The dessert tasted better than it looked. Probably the reason they have so many good reviews is due to many people wanting to claim the freebies they offered for leaving good reviews. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This was our first visit, and it did not disappoint. The meal was thoroughly enjoyable, with generous portions and rich, satisfying flavors. The 生煎包 stole the show — bursting with juicy 汤汁 that squirted out the moment we bit into it, which got a bit messy but was totally worth it. We were so eager to eat them that, unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to take any photos! One of my family members got a little messy, but the attentive waitress immediately came over with tissues and kindly warned us to be careful, which was a nice touch. The 旦旦面 was hearty and packed with flavor, perfectly comforting. The scallion noodles were tasty and flavorful, though the serving size felt a bit on the small side. To our surprise, the 酸辣汤 was exceptionally good—so much so that we seriously considered ordering a second bowl. Overall, it was a wonderful experience for our family, and we all agreed this place is a definite must-visit again.

Ordered scallion oil noodles (+ chicken fillet) served with jasmine green tea at $3.80+, the portion was reasonably good for a light meal. Overall, a satisfactory tea time set that's value for money - paired with their signature pan-fried bun (add-on order) of which I enjoyed its flavourful crispy base. Will be back to try other signature dishes.

Food and service are excellent. Afternoon tea set is really good price at ard $4 each, includes drink and good portion of noodles, chicken portion seems slightly smaller but reasonable for the price. Atmosphere wise, try to avoid the inside seats next to the stall beside. Staff at the stall beside were shouting very loudly but this stall can’t really do anything about it as it’s beyond their control.

Food was decent but service could be better. It was not full and your staff refused to let us sit at a bigger table. Eventually we were allowed to change seats after our food could not fit onto the small table.

Super crazy tea-time deal! Their best seller Golden Fried Chicken Fillet with Scallion Oil Noodles + a green tea (hot/cold) for only $3.80+ on weekdays 2-5.30pm! Don't know when this promo will end but this deal is really super worth!! Noodle is qq springy with the scallion oil fragrance, very addictive. Fried chicken fillet is so huge and appetising, it's tender chicken thigh with crispy skin! The set also allows for upgrades like sides (including sheng jian bao etc), change of drinks etc, and we added an ice jelly for $1.80. Even so, my total meal is only $6.10! Xiao Xue's warm reception & bright smile is very contagious! Even on a quiet rainy afternoon, so it's very heartwarming. In fact, the team here is so welcoming and very responsive!
