I regularly purchase vouchers monthly for my company, and usually do so at NEX. The service there is efficient, and they use a machine to assist with voucher counting.
Today, as I was nearby, I visited NTUC Tampines Mall to purchase vouchers. As usual, I approached the counter to make my request. The staff, whose last name ends with โHwa,โ directed me to the right side of the counter to fill in the denomination, then instructed me to move to the left side for payment. I waited, understanding the voucher collection counter might be at the other end.
When she returned with the vouchers, she simply placed them on the right side of the table again, and I had to move over once more. At NEX and even Woodleigh Mall, staff would count the vouchers in front of me using a machine, which ensures accuracy and transparency.
At Tampines, however, I was told I needed to count them myself on the spot. When I inquired about using a machine, she said I would need to walk with her to the office if I required that.
Overall, the service at Tampines Mall NTUC was disappointing. While she did smile and thank me at the end, it only happened after I expressed my dissatisfaction.

Iโve encountered several instances where the counter staff appeared unfriendly, particularly when I was trying to use digital vouchers. These vouchers sometimes take a bit of time to load, but the staff seemed impatient and unwelcoming during the process. On multiple occasions, there was no greeting or even a simple โthank youโ at the end of the transaction.
I hope FairPrice can look into enhancing customer service by encouraging staff to be more courteous, patient, and helpful, especially when customers face technical delays.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at FairPrice due to the unprofessional behaviour of a middle age staff member named Chandra. I attempted to purchase an extra $0.05 plastic bag to contain my grocery items, but Chandra not only refused to process the transaction but also made a scene over such a trivial amount. Her attitude was rude and dismissive, making me feel unwelcome and embarrassed. This kind of customer service is unacceptable, especially over such a small matter. I hope FairPrice takes this feedback seriously and addresses the behaviour of staff like Chandra to ensure better service in the future.

As you can see, many reviews are about the same few people. This is a warning to all to avoid the self check out as much as you can. It happened to me a few days ago, two aunties at the checkout, unfortunately never caught their names were super rude. The chinese lady was still not so bad but the indian lady, I never interacted with her but she kept adding fuel to the fire while purposely speaking so loudly and the chinese aunty joined lol. Itโs their job to help people but it seems they are just dithering people from self check out, which in return causes the long lines at the cashier. These miserable peopleโs goal is to just make people as miserable as them. It happened with my son about a voucher, I admitted that it was my fault to the chinese aunty for not seeing the sign, bcs it was so small. Then, she told me to go to the cashiers instead, so I told my son to help me queue at the cashiers as instructed BY HER. I was waiting for the chinese aunty to come to remove the items as I have been to fairprice finest and they can just delete the item/ restart the transaction, in the end she told me to come back and whoโs going to pay for the items? It wasโnt busy btw, thatโs when the indian lady repeated again the same line loudly. Wow maybe if this has been happening a few times, get a bigger sign that is not covered by promotional items?? Instead of making their lives easier, they choose to bully customers?? They kept saying how Iโm incompetent, over a damn voucher? Sorry but youโre working at NTUC, not doing your job and calling me incompetent?? It seems they have zero common sense/ self awareness and it seems no one has sounded them on their behaviour. I always shop at finest, this is my first time going in there and I will never set foot there again. Will chose giant/ other supermarkets instead. People might not care that it happened to me but Iโm sure youโd be pissed off if it happened to your family/ someone you love. They are lucky those they bullied are not those people who will sue etc. To the others, donโt worry karma will strike them back
