Tanjong Rhu Pau is a beloved heritage bakery that has been handcrafting traditional steamed buns since the 1960s, now proudly operated by third-generation owners who continue the family legacy of authentic pau making. Located in Tampines Mall's basement level at B1-K10, this time-honored establishment represents the finest traditions of Singaporean artisanal baking with everything made fresh daily by hand on the premises.
The bakery's signature offering is their acclaimed Char Siew Pau (/bin/bash.90), featuring tender, charcoal-grilled barbecued pork wrapped in delicate, fluffy skin that delivers an extra smoky flavor profile. Their generous Big Pork Pau (.80) provides a hearty serving of savory meat filling, while the unique Yuan Yang Pau (.30) offers a delightful mixture of red bean, lotus paste, and salted egg yolk that showcases the baker's creative mastery.
Each pau is meticulously crafted using traditional techniques, with staff quietly kneading dough, carefully filling each bun, and steaming them to perfection. Known for their characteristically thin skins and generous, flavorful fillings, Tanjong Rhu Pau represents authentic old-school Singapore bakery traditions. The establishment serves as a testament to preserving the art of pau making, offering customers a bite of nostalgia and taste of home that food lovers treasure for its irreplaceable charm and unwavering commitment to quality craftsmanship.

All i can say is that the big pau is really small and does not comensurate with the name it is called - totally misleading. We should just call a spate a spate. And the price of a small pau which is called a big pau is simply exorbitant. First time and last time buying

I was very glad to know your new stall opened at Tampines Mall Basement. Tried to pay with eCapita voucher but was almost rejected. I was served by this lady who was super unfriendly and impatient. She was very against electronic payment and said, “Do not ask me on how to use, I do not know, my boss never teach me”, and not in a jokingly tone. I was the only customer, she shouted "Next", ironically there was no one queuing behind me. I am very disappointed, and I promise you, this is the last time I am going to buy from your stall. 😤
