Another excellent place at Tampines Mall! Love the atmosphere! TGIFs are crowded, but the service is fast. Staff go out of their way to do a fast turnaround, especially on Friday nights. Impressed with their teamwork! 💪 My fourth visit.

First time dining here, though we've eaten a few times at the Katong L12 store. It was nice that they had a couple of staff from the Katong store here. Food-wise, there was some confusion regarding our orders, as we weren't able to use the QR code and ended up ordering with the staff. In the end, everything was settled, and the food came out in a short time. The sushi was freshly made, with the exception of the two handrolls where the nori was slightly dated and not crisp. The ika was also slightly hard. I loved the sushi mentai and unagi pieces. Overall, it was a good meal, and we will certainly be back.

A nice new place at Tampines. Prices are decent, and service and atmosphere are good! Really liked the thick sashimi pieces, and the seafood garlic fried rice was perfect for me. However, the teriyaki chicken don was quite disappointing - the chicken was a little tasteless and tough with little sauce. We managed to save it by asking for more sauce, which made it much better. The staff asked for feedback at the end of our meal, so I was honest and told her about the chicken. For service recovery, she gifted us mochi desserts. I will definitely still come again to try other dishes!

Food: Salmon sashimi, negitoro mini temaki, unagi handroll, dragon roll, and ikura chawanmushi were average. We were only satisfied with the Aburi Engawa and the ikura sushi. The Wagyu shabu-shabu was really, REALLY bad. They had the audacity to serve such thin slices that fell apart easily when picked up with chopsticks. We couldn't even properly taste the meat, and it was such a waste of the Wagyu. Service: Food took a while to be served and wasn't served completely. They missed our Salmon and Negitoro, and we had to ask them for it. Towards the end, a lady started clearing our table while we were still seated, chatting and trying to finish our drinks. What happened to basic courtesy, like waiting for customers to leave before clearing the table? What's the rush when it's not even near closing time? To me, it's just rude to do that. Prices weren't cheap. Our total bill came up to 90+ for two people (and the most expensive item was the Wagyu. Damn). I am really puzzled by the high Google rating. There are a lot of other Japanese restaurants in the vicinity that offer better and fresher food and service. For that reason, I will not recommend this place and will not be back.

Here's the lightly edited review: A new Japanese restaurant in Tampines Mall, very affordable and family-friendly. This was my third visit since they opened last month. They also serve Otoro and Uni Sashimi. Their menu has a wide variety of Japanese cuisine. Their specialty is their Makimono Rolls. I would recommend the Mentai Salmon and Soft Shell Crab Roll. Their style is a little like an Izakaya, with many choices. I came here for dinner around 7:30 PM on a Wednesday, and a queue was already forming. One thing about the restaurant is they play piano music, which is very calm and not too loud. It's one of the better Japanese restaurants in Tampines Central. A huge thank you to Mandy and Rachel for their exceptional service. Expect their service to be slower during peak hours due to staffing shortages.

The price is decent, if not slightly lower than other sushi restaurants. The selection is okay, and the food was pretty good. I had their Salmon Teriyaki Don, and it was good. My favourite is the Mentaiko sushi roll because the mentaiko sauce was generous. Overall, it was a good experience, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We spent just over $50 for three people.

Love this new Japanese food place! And I know we will definitely be back for more in the near future! They offer a user-friendly app for food ordering, prompt service, fresh sashimi, generous portions, and reasonable prices. We joined their membership and got a $5 voucher to offset the total bill. If I really need to say something negative, it would be the long queue, but that can't be helped unless they expand their floor area to cater to more diners.

This is my first time at Sushi Zanmai, and I have to say I was totally surprised by the quality of food we received for this price. Every dish we ordered tasted pretty good and was on par with most other popular Japanese joints in Singapore. The only problem I had was that the service was too slow.

The food was alright. I loved the pork katsu, which had a natural flavor and wasn't salty. The tempura was rather oily, and the oysters were salty. However, the service was excellent; they refilled our tea many times! The spotlight was too hot, but I guess it was time to go.

Ika tempura was decent. Avoid the chawanmushi.
