*Worst hair rebonding so far* I went for hair rebonding in November 2022. I chose this salon because it looked decent and good. I'm not sure of the name of the stylist who served me, but she was the only one working that day. She was friendly at first, but in the end, the result was worse than I expected. Because my hair had been chemically treated before, I wasn't expecting the rebonding to make my hair silky smooth like virgin hair. She told me the ends might be a bit dry afterward, and I was okay with that. I've been getting rebonding since I was young, and I was in the hair industry previously, so I know the process of the treatment. This rebonding was done very quickly. She applied the first product and left it on for merely 5 minutes before washing it out. The product would have to be very strong to soften my hair within that timeframe. I thought maybe this product worked wonders, so I had some faith! Cutting a long story short, the end result actually damaged 3/4 of my hair. After washing it, it became like burnt broom bristles, which couldn't be tamed by any products. I had no choice but to iron it with high heat to hide the damage. It was the worst rebonding I've had so far, but I won't go to the salon to complain, as I know they won't be able to do anything. However, I wanted to review it here so consumers know before spending money there. But of course, this was my personal experience. Others' experiences might be good; I don't know.

I think that was my first and also the last time I'll go to Hair Mechanics to fix my hair. I went for a haircut recently and clearly told and pointed out to the male hairdresser that I wanted my hair length below my shoulder. But after the blowout and drying, my hair turned out to be above my shoulder. The fact that the male hairdresser looked experienced and professional, but he wasn't. I paid over $50+ just to get my scalp burned by the heat from the hair dryer during the blowout, not to mention the dry and poofy hair after, and no heat protector was applied to my hair. I blow out my hair way nicer and better than he did, duh. Clearly he doesn’t know his work, doesn't have passion for what he's doing, and lacks skills. The only thing I liked from this whole experience was the smell of my hair from some product he applied after the blowout. No wonder there are many 1-star reviews from previous customers…and the shop was the only one that wasn't fully booked. 太失望了！ Wouldn’t recommend unless you're not particular.

Despite showing her two images of the intended SHOULDER LENGTH hairstyle I wanted, this woman just went ahead and cut off my permed armpit-length hair in one single snip, replacing it with the Institution A 982B Upper Changi Road North Hairstyle, aka CWP hair! I was damn upset and raging mad that I threw a fit, cried, and even called the police to the scene because I will NOT - based on consumer ethics and rights - pay for a service that I didn’t receive the exact results from! @hair_mechanics_singapore, it was really irresponsible of your hairstylist to cut off my hair and give me a prison hairstyle! What I showed her was a Korean-looking shoulder-length hair with curls at the end!!! No amount of compensation will please me for the bad job done. It seems like your hairstylist couldn't even visualize or simply wanted to do a quick-and-go job despite my subtle questioning: “Isn’t the length shorter than SHOULDER LENGTH?” If you call this shoulder-length, then I seriously think you need to get your eyes and brain checked for any form of neuron malfunction. If I wear my white shirt and blue shorts and attempt to flag for a cab, I really do look like someone who has just been released from Changi Women’s Prison. This is how important my hair is to me, as it makes my confidence and overall branding. Don’t give me the lame excuse, “Oh, hair will grow,” to cover up a shoddy job, poor visualization skills, extremely weak communication skills, and a lack of understanding of the everyday terminology “shoulder length,” just to defend your position. You made me look like an inmate/someone released from Changi Prison and expect me to be OK and live life for the next 3-6 months?!!"

I was quite satisfied with their haircuts by two male hairstylists previously, which is why we returned as a repeat customer. However, yesterday's visit was atrocious. Not only did the female hairdresser "adjust" my daughter's position in the booster seat roughly, she also commented "SO SHORT AH" when we showed her a bob cut. Then, she proceeded to cut very slowly. Throughout the cut (over an hour), she was easily distracted by phone calls and new customers. When she was done, she presented a super flat and totally un-bob-like hairstyle on my daughter. I made some comments, and she proceeded to cut again, this time leaving uneven layers and "holes." I told her to stop, but she continued for a while. I'm speechless. I will never return again.

Not worth going, as it is very pricey for the standards offered. 1) There is no indication of pricing for their services. During CNY, a haircut cost S$48. During the non-festive season, a haircut was S$35. The sums don't add up. 2) The skills they possess are HDB standard, or even Kcut (S$10). I would recommend you go to Kcut, and ladies should go to the salon beside Hair Mechanics, which I think is called "RED". I went twice to give them another chance, but it was an ultimate disappointment. In conclusion, please proceed to the salon next to it or elsewhere, as it is not worth your money.
