*worst hair rebonding so far*
Went for hair rebonding in November 2022. Chose to go into this salon because it looked decent and good. I'm not sure what the name of the lady stylist who served me was, but she was the only stylist working that day. She was a friendly stylist to start with, but by the end of the day, the result was worse than what I was expecting. Because my hair was chemically treated before, I wasn't expecting the rebonding to make my hair silky smooth like virgin hair. She told me the ends might be a bit dry afterward, and I was okay with that. I have been doing rebonding since I was young, and I was in the hair industry previously, so I know the process of the treatment. This rebonding was done very quickly. She only applied the first product and left it on for merely 5 minutes before washing it off. The product had to be that strong for my hair to soften within that timeframe. Then I thought, maybe this product worked wonders... I tried to have some faith! To cut a long story short, the end result was that it actually damaged three-quarters of my hair. After washing, it became like burnt broom brushes which cannot be tamed by any products. I had no choice but to iron it with high heat to hide the damage. It was the worst rebonding I've had so far, but I won't go to the salon to complain, as I know they won't be able to do anything. But I just wanted to review it here so consumers know before spending money there.
But of course, it was my personal experience. Others' experiences might be good; I don't know.

I think that will be my first and last time at Hair Mechanics. I recently went for a haircut and clearly told the male hairdresser that I wanted my hair length below my shoulder. But after the blowout and drying, my hair ended up being above my shoulder. The male hairdresser looked experienced and professional, but he clearly wasn't. I paid over $50 just to get my scalp burned by the hair dryer's heat during the blowout, not to mention the dry and poofy hair afterward, with no heat protector applied. I blow dry my hair much nicer and better than he does, duh. Clearly, he doesn't know his work, has no passion for what he's doing, and lacks skills. The only thing I liked about this whole experience was the smell of some product he had applied to my hair. No wonder there are many 1-star reviews from previous customers... and the shop was the only one that wasn't fully booked, ooohhh. 太失望了! I wouldn't recommend it unless you're not particular.

Was tempted to do a simple bangs trim...until I saw this recent review of the business on Beauty Undercover, so I'll pass:
https://www.beautyundercover.sg/hair/hair-mechanics-tampines
The review was titled: "Hair Stylist Gave Me Changi Cluster A Despite Showing Her Two Images Of Shoulder-length Hairdos"
I just got released from Changi Women’s Prison — thanks to a hairstylist from Hair Mechanics, Tampines Mall! Despite showing her two images of the intended SHOULDER LENGTH hairstyle I wanted, this woman just went ahead and cut off my permed, armpit-length hair in one single snip to replace it with "Institution A 982B Upper Changi Road North Hairstyle" (aka CWP hair)! I was damn upset and raging mad; I threw a fit, cried, and even called the police to the scene because I will NOT — based on consumer ethics and rights — pay for a service that I don’t reap the exact results from! @hair_mechanics_singapore, it was really irresponsible of your hairstylist to cut off my hair and give me a prison hairstyle! What was shown to her was Korean-looking shoulder-length hair with curls at the end!!!
No amount of compensation will please me for a bad job done. It seems like your hairstylist cannot even visualize or just simply wants to do a quick-and-go job, despite my subtly questioning her, "Isn’t the length shorter than SHOULDER LENGTH?" If you call this shoulder-length, then I seriously think you need to get your eyes and brain checked for any form of neuron malfunction. If I don my white shirt and blue shorts and attempt to flag for a cab, I really do look like someone who has just been released from Changi Women’s Prison. This is how important my hair is to me, as it maketh my confidence and overall branding. Don’t give me the lame excuse, "Oh, hair will grow," to cover up a shoddy job, poor visualization skills, extremely weak communication skills, and a lack of understanding of the everyday terminology "shoulder-length" just to defend your position. You made me look like an inmate / someone released from Changi Prison and expect me to be OK and live life for the next 3-6 months?!!

We were quite satisfied with the haircut by two male hairstylists previously, which is why we came back as return customers. However, yesterday's visit was atrocious. Not only did the lady hairdresser "adjust" my daughter's position in the booster seat roughly, but she also commented, "SO SHORT AH!" when we showed her a bob cut. Then, she proceeded to cut very slowly. Throughout the cut (over an hour), she was easily distracted by phone calls and by new customers. When she was done, she presented a super flat and totally not a bob cut hairstyle on my daughter. I made some comments, and she proceeded to cut again. This time, she left uneven layers and "holes." I told her to stop. She still continued for a while. I'm speechless. We will never return.

Not worth going as it is very pricey for such standards.
1) There is no pricing indicated for their services. For instance, during CNY, a haircut costs S$48, whereas during the non-festive season, the same haircut was S$35. The sum doesn't add up.
2) The skills they possess are HDB standard, or even comparable to Kcut (S$10). I would recommend men to go for Kcut, and ladies to go to the shop next to Hair Mechanics, which I believe is called "RED".
I went twice, hoping to give them another chance to see if things would improve, but it was an ultimate disappointment.
In conclusion, I recommend going to the salon next door or elsewhere, as this place is not worth your money.

I absolutely adore the staff here; Sophia and Anne have made it so welcoming every time I come to get my hair done. After my hair was damaged by other hairdressers who do not know how to manage thick, wavy hair, I've finally found my place to go. They not only know how to manage my hair, but also what products would help it thrive and give me product recommendations that I can use at home, within my budget.

Have been going to this salon for 5 years now, and I am still very pleased with their reasonable cost, and excellent service (shoutout to my stylist, Sophia). Call in first, so that you can be assured of a spot.

Surprisingly good. It's my regular place to go for a haircut. I'd recommend Sophia and Alan. They both cut really well! Service is pretty decent too.

My mum and I have been going to Hair Mechanics for 8 years now. Sofia is the best hair stylist we've ever had.
