About Metta Day Rehabilitation Centre (慈光乐龄日间康复中心), Tampines
Established in 1998, Metta Day Rehabilitation Centre provides comprehensive rehab care for elderly clients recovering from stroke, Parkinson’s disease, or physical injury. We focus on helping seniors regain independence and improve their quality of life through therapy and social support — all under one roof, in a compassionate and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Therapy Support
- Assist therapists in implementing personalised care and therapy plans
- Provide physical support to clients during sessions (e.g. transfers, mobility assistance)
- Monitor client safety and wellbeing; report any concerns promptly
- Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a clean, safe rehab environment
- Record daily therapy activities and client progress accurately
- Encourage active participation in therapy and centre programmes
- Support planning and execution of centre-based events and outings
Transport Duties (only for those with valid Class 3 licence))
- Drive clients to and from the centre according to assigned schedule
- Ensure client safety during transport; follow all traffic rules and centre protocols
- Accompany clients for medical appointments or outdoor activities when required
- Respond quickly to any emergencies during transit or external programmes
- Monitor vehicle condition and coordinate maintenance as needed
🔹 Note: Candidates without a Class 3 driving licence may still apply for the role of Therapy Aide only.
Additional Duties
- Participate in Metta-wide initiatives such as fundraising or volunteer events
- Carry out other tasks as delegated by your Supervisor or Manager
Who We’re Looking For
- Minimum secondary school education; WSQ Certificate or NITEC in Therapy Services is a plus
- 1 year of experience in eldercare, therapy, or healthcare support preferred
- Valid Class 3 driving licence (required for the combined role of Therapy Aide cum Driver)
- Physically able to support client transfers and mobility needs
- Able to communicate effectively in English and at least one local language/dialect
- Compassionate, reliable, and able to work well both independently and in a team
- BCLS + AED certified (or willing to obtain upon hire)
