Job Summary
The ideal candidate is an experienced SWIFT Consultant with deep expertise in SWIFT messaging standards (MT/MX/ISO 20022) and comprehensive hands-on knowledge of the SWIFT Alliance suite, including AMH, SAA, SAG, SNL, HSM, and Alliance Cloud. The role requires strong technical acumen, security awareness, and the ability to support end-to-end SWIFT integration and compliance in a financial institution.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SWIFT Alliance products such as AMH, SAA, SAG, SNL, Alliance Cloud, RMA, and HSM.
- Manage and configure SWIFTNet connectivity, including VPN, TLS, and certificate lifecycle management.
- Support onboarding and integration of SWIFT MT/MX messages, including RJE XMLv2 format and AMH AMP.
- Modify routing rules on SAA and AMH to ensure correct message delivery to target channels.
- Monitor system health, message status, and error logs for real-time issue detection and response.
- Investigate NAKs, message rejections, and troubleshoot formatting or connection issues.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain SWIFT Customer Security Programme (CSP) controls and contribute to annual attestation.
- Coordinate with infrastructure teams for OS hardening, firewall configurations, and secure channel setup.
- Provide technical support during SIT, UAT, and SWIFT audits.
- Maintain proper documentation for audit, compliance, and operations handover.
Qualifications & Experience
SWIFT Expertise
- Strong knowledge of SWIFT MT/MX messaging, ISO 20022, and SWIFT messaging interfaces (SAA, AMH).
- Experience in managing RMA, BIC configurations, and FIN/FileAct/InterAct channels.
- Familiarity with payment systems such as MEPS+, RTGS, or CBPR+.
- Experience working with AMP (AMH Message Processing) and message enrichment/validation rules.
Security & Compliance
- Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining SWIFT CSP controls.
- Knowledge of mandatory/advisory control assessments, evidence gathering, and SWIFT attestation tools.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity threats, incident response, and compliance requirements.
Infrastructure & Systems
- Proficient in Linux/Unix/Windows server administration and shell scripting.
- Experienced with networking protocols, firewalls, VPN setup, and TLS security.
Database & Reporting
- Able to query and generate reports using Oracle or SQL Server for SWIFT message logs and activity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related technical discipline.
- Prior experience working with central banks, financial institutions, or regulatory authorities.
- Min 3 years of experience working in SWIFT.
Soft Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work across infra, app, security, and compliance teams.
- Strong documentation skills for technical, audit, and operational processes.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple concurrent initiatives independently.
