We are seeking for a detail-oriented and skilled Drafter to translate design concepts and specifications into accurate and comprehensive technical drawings, plans, and layouts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of technical drawing principles, proficiency in AutoCAD, and demonstrable 3D modelling skills. This role requires effective communication and collaboration with various project stakeholders, including Quantity Surveyors, operations team, and Project Managers, to ensure project requirements are accurately reflected in the drawings.
Responsibilities of Drafter:
- Interpret and translate project specifications: Thoroughly read and understand technical drawings, architectural plans, engineering layouts, and project specifications to grasp project requirements and design intent.
- Create technical drawings and plans: Develop detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and layouts using AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.
- Utilize 3D modelling skills: Create accurate and visually representative 3D models to aid in design visualization, clash detection, and communication.
- Ensure accuracy and adherence to standards: Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all drawings, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, building codes, and company protocols.
- Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors: Communicate effectively with Quantity Surveyors to provide necessary drawings and information for accurate cost estimation and material take-offs.
- Liaise with Operations and Project Managers: Work closely with Operations teams and Project Managers to clarify design details, address any drawing-related queries, and ensure drawings align with construction methodologies and project timelines.
- Manage and organize drawings: Maintain an organized system for managing and archiving project drawings, revisions, and related documentation.
- Prepare drawing revisions and updates: Modify and update existing drawings based on design changes, site conditions, or client feedback, ensuring all revisions are accurately documented.
- Assist with as-built drawings: Prepare accurate as-built drawings upon project completion, reflecting any site modifications or deviations from the original plans.
- Stay updated with industry trends: Continuously update knowledge of drafting techniques, software advancements, and relevant industry standards.
Requirements of Drafter:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Drafter (Experience in the Signage or Construction industry is a bonus.)
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, architectural plans, and engineering layouts based on project specifications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator, or any 3D software is mandatory.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills to interact with Quantity Surveyors, Operations teams, and Project Managers.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
